5 Minutes With Stephanie

As with other industries, there are many resources we consult to keep up with things that affect our businesses. There are a number of physical and digital trade magazines for Independent Garden Centers with interesting articles aimed toward professional audiences.

One of the best we got was the L&GR (Lawn & Garden Retailer). A few weeks ago, I was contacted by one of their managing editors, Theresa McPherson, to see if I would be interested in taking part in her “5 Minutes With…” series.

Would I? Sure, how much fun would that be? But, of course, I am a little long-winded when I get going about one of my favorite subjects, Behnke’s, so she needed to trim it up some to fit in her 5 minutes format. I was probably up to around 12 minutes with small print.

The article came out this week, and I wanted to share it with you all. I am honored they picked me and our Behnke’s to write about.

My question is, does this make me famous?

Stephanie Fleming rebranded Behnke’s Nurseries to Beyond Behnke’s, an online garden and gift shop. Stephanie Fleming, granddaughter of Behnke’s Nurseries founders Albert and Rose Behnke, was vice president of the business when it closed in 2019. She continued to keep the Newsletter going and rebranded the business Beyond Behnke’s, opening an online garden and gift shop under the same name.
