A Drive Westward!

Last Sunday, my husband and I drove Westward to find the Washington County Agriculture Education Center in Boonsboro. I will have a booth at the Fall Gourmet Food & Craft Show Extravaganza on September 14 & 15. It’s a good thing we put the address in our GPS as it is closer to Hagerstown and off of a different exit than we thought—either way, it’s very easy to get to, and what an amazing place.
Unfortunately, we were there too early before their Rural Heritage Museum opened, but the grounds were beautiful. They also have an Early Roads Transportation Museum, which my brother-in-law told us is amazing. We will be going back to check these out at some point, but what is great is that when you come to see me at the Fall Gourmet Food & Craft Show, you can stop in and explore their museums, too.
While driving through this center, I saw the 1800s village with lovely gardens. The museums are open Saturdays & Sundays from 1 – 4 pm till Dec. Best to check their website for more details. Oh, and they even have Tractor Trailer Pulls and car shows.
We decided to take the long way home and went past a beautiful place called Devil’s Backbone County Park. We enjoyed our short walk across the footbridge over the Antietam Creek. What a wonderful place to bring your family for a picnic. They have a nice playground, folks are fishing, and a covered pavilion. Overall, it was a great little road trip on a beautiful Sunday morning!
