A Expired? Maybe. Planted? Definitely!

The other day, my mother-in-law Jane brought down a large plastic bag full of seed packets. Apparently, she’s had them for many years, stored in the basement refrigerator. Each spring, she would pick out what she wanted to plant in her garden. Most—if not all—had expired.
Earlier, we had planted some of her peas in her raised veggie beds—and guess what? They actually came up! 🌿 My husband just rolled his eyes and said we didn’t need anything else planted. 😂
Then our granddaughter Zoe started sorting through the seeds and picked out a few to take home. But of course, she told her grandfather she wanted to plant a few here at our house too! Amazingly, my husband immediately told her to choose whatever flowers she wanted—and off they went!
Now we’ve got Sunflowers, Zinnias, Forget-Me-Nots, and Bells of Ireland planted! 🌻🌸💚 Woohoo! Fingers crossed something else comes up too. 🌱
I noticed a few of the packets were from Botanical Interests, a company Behnke’s always carried along with other seed brands. It brought back memories of seed displays at Behnke’s. 🌼
