Fun Times At Larriland Farms
Sunday Fun At Larriland Farm
Last Sunday, I went with my daughter and granddaughter to Larriland Farm in Woodbine, Maryland, for an afternoon of Fall Fun! ( I interviewed owner Lynn More and her nephew Sam last year when I had our podcasts! You can listen here.)
How in the world have I never been to this event before? Held each autumn weekend, there is something for everyone. And even better, it won’t break the bank. They have a small kid-friendly haunted house where children can run through over and over for $2. (Parents are free.) Then, there is their amazing hay maze that once again is geared toward children, complete with a tot maze off to the side. The cost was $3, and again, parents were free. We ended the day with a hayride for $4 each. And, of course, nothing is better than going out in their fields to pick fresh fruit and veggies!
Hayrides and More
The hayride was so much fun. My granddaughter, Zoe, was squealing with delight, as were the other children, as they saw so many figures along the way. We traveled throughout the Larriland Farm and into their magical woods, where many much-loved figures were placed along the way. I asked the owner, Lynn Moore, of Larriland if she made these figures (I knew from the past how talented she is), but she smiled and said that they are made by the many young people who work for them. Seeing NEMO alongside their large pond was the best for me.
During these Fall weekends, Larriland has an assortment of food vendors, including Mike’s Gelato! Owned by Mike Mullinix, which has the BEST ICE CREAM EVER!!! Just saying!
How To Find Larriland Farm
Located nearby at 3125 Florence Road is Larriland’s Fine Farm, which has even more for you to enjoy with a corn maze and sunflower field, and of course, the delicious Pick Your Apples, that they are famous for. You can check their Facebook page for up-to-date information about their pick-your-own fruit, vegetables, and events. And remember all your fall decorating needs. From pumpkins to Indian Corn, they have it all! I am sorry it took me so long to experience this family-friendly event. I always would visit during the weekdays to get my pumpkins and apples. That is what happens when you work your entire life on weekends. Now that I am retired, I can enjoy places like this!!
