Gaver Farm ~ Frederick County

Last weekend, I went on yet another adventure. This time, my wonderful daughter-in-law, Amy Fleming, invited me to tag along to Gaver Farm outside of Mt. Airy, Maryland, in Frederick County. She was taking my grandchildren, Robert and Elizabeth Rose, to this fantastic place. The plan was for me to take little Elizabeth off to explore while her big brother had fun with Mommy on the big kids’ stuff.
I hope you can find time if you have little ones to check this place out. It just continued with so much interaction for the kids to do. Robert could not wait to get on the Jumping Pillow, like a giant patchwork blanket with air under it. The kids got on and jumped! Too much for little sister to do. We left Robert and Mommy and watched the Chicken show with singing chickens. She found some horse tails that needed brushing and a prominent bubble place to make BIG bubbles. Of course, we got to see all the animals, and they enjoyed seeing all the children. The goats were the hit of the day. There were many giant slides, obstacle courses, playgrounds, and a zip line where older children were zipping across the farm. Elizabeth was happiest with the pedal cars and the rubber ducks she could put in a wooden water trough and watch swim downhill. We decided against going through the corn maze, which was good. Robert and Mommy got lost in there! It was huge!
All in all, a ton of fun. By the way, off in the background, I could see their Christmas Tree farm for cut your own. There were hay rides and pumpkin and apple picking. We were just too busy watching the goats!
