U.S. Botanic Gardens in Late April

Continuing on the theme of Great Gardens near Behnkes Customers, this is what the U.S. Botanic Garden looked like last Friday. The video is all outdoors, showing the National Garden and the Bartholdi Park, but remember there’s also inside what they call the Conservatory – the big beautiful glass structure.

The video is dedicated to the Botanic Garden’s executive director Holly Shimizu, who’s retiring at the end of this week after 14 years at the helm. She’ll be missed!

She was weeding from the moment she could walk and hiding as soon as she was old enough to run, so many weeds, so little time. Although she quickly learned how to pull out a perennial and get taken off of weed pulling duty.
