Enjoy the Little Things

fairy-gardening

As I mentioned last week, I was in Atlanta buying for Christmas 2016. What a lot of fun it was this year having Adrienne along from our graphics department. Besides eating out at places I have never been before (I had Indian food for the first time ever and loved it), I was able to get an idea of what younger people might want in their homes.

After we had seen as much Christmas as any one person could handle, we looked at pots, yard art and, best of all, Fairy Gardens!

This year we are buying from 4 different vendors with 4 different looks. Most of the little fairies will start arriving in Feburary but I thought I would give you a sneak peak at Studio M’s line this year. Bright colors make this line very different; add these accessories to your existing fairy/miniature garden for a pop of color and whimsy.  We also found some wonderful new terrarium kits and containers for creating new miniature gardens.  And of course this spring at Behnke’s, you will find a LARGE line of Tiny plants to make the garden complete. Complete?   Well I’m not sure about that…a fairy/miniature garden is never complete.  Just like our own homes, they change over time.

Enjoy the little things this year,
Stephanie Fleming, Behnke’s Vice President

Stephanie Fleming was raised at Behnke’s Nurseries in Beltsville. Her Mom, Sonja, was one of Albert & Rose Behnke’s four children. She was weeding from the moment she could walk and hiding as soon as she was old enough to run, so many weeds, so little time. Although she quickly learned how to pull out a perennial and get taken off of weed pulling duty.
