Gearing Up For Christmas In July

Christmas In July
It is that time again!! I have always loved going to craft shows, and while I do a few in the Spring, our Christmas in July (on the 20th & 21st) show at the Howard County Fairgrounds always marks the start of my holiday season!

I have been unpacking and pricing all our new inventory and cannot wait to share everything with you. As always, I will have the beautiful Quilled Greeting Cards, Egyptian Glass Ornaments, and Old World Christmas Ornaments. I wish I could bring other things I sell online, but these three are all I can handle on my own.

One of the best things about attending these shows is when you all come and say hi. Even folks that do not get this email will stop, look at the banner, whisper to each other, and then come up and say, “Are you the Behnke’s that…?” I love hearing how much people loved Behnke’s, and if I am being honest, it is the main reason I keep plugging away each week with this email and attending different events.

I am always looking for other local shows that are indoors where I can set up, so if you know of any, let me know. They just cannot be outside or an event that requires handmade everything. Because while my hands have not made these beautiful items, they were all made with Fair Trade practices by other hands.

Stephanie Fleming

Stephanie Fleming was raised at Behnke’s Nurseries in Beltsville. Her Mom, Sonja, was one of Albert & Rose Behnke’s four children. She was weeding from the moment she could walk and hiding as soon as she was old enough to run, so many weeds, so little time. Although she quickly learned how to pull out a perennial and get taken off of weed pulling duty.

  1. Miss Behnke’s so much!! Long time MD gardener. How about showing at the Olney Farmers Market on Sundays. I think your booth would do well there. Near the hospital

    1. aww we miss everyone too! I just checked out the Onley Farmers Market and it is held outside which I can’t do. Plus, it appears they want products hand made from the vendor. My items are handmade, just not by my hands 🙂
Thank you for the suggestion. I think I will have to take a drive there and check it out. Sounds like a great market.
