A Special Announcement ~ From Botanical Interests Seed

With a new year comes new transitions and some exciting news from our brand! Judy and Curtis have decided to look towards the future, and with that comes the acquisition of Botanical Interests by Epic Gardening.

Kevin Espiritu, the founder and CEO of Epic Gardening, shares the same values as Botanical Interests. Kevin is most well known as a self-taught gardener turned pro through his various social media outlets. Kevin has amassed over 6 million social media followers, 18 million podcast downloads, and 50 million blog visits. Additionally, Kevin has authored two books, Field Guide to Urban Gardening and Grow Bag Gardening.

Kevin speaks about his experience with Botanical Interests and what this acquisition means going forward:

“The first plant I EVER grew from seed in 2013 was a pack of Botanical Interests ‘Marketmore’ cucumbers. Although I failed miserably to grow them, the experience lit my spark for gardening and led directly to the creation of Epic Gardening.

10 years ago, I never could have imagined that my company would one day join forces with Botanical Interests. This is a truly full-circle moment for myself and Epic Gardening as a whole.

The Botanical Interests founders, Curtis & Judy, were searching for a successor to steward their incredible seed company into the future. I’m grateful that they chose Epic Gardening because of our mission: to teach the world to grow.”

We now proudly offer Epic Gardening products, like the Birdies Raised Garden Beds in our online store, with more epic products to come!

We’re excited to keep on growing with you!

Stephanie Fleming was raised at Behnke’s Nurseries in Beltsville. Her Mom, Sonja, was one of Albert & Rose Behnke’s four children. She was weeding from the moment she could walk and hiding as soon as she was old enough to run, so many weeds, so little time. Although she quickly learned how to pull out a perennial and get taken off of weed pulling duty.
