Craft Shows, It’s A Family Thing

Aaron Helping At Oma's Christmas In July Craft Show
Thank you to everyone who took time this past weekend to attend the Howard County Fair Grounds Christmas In July Craft Show!

Being the proud Grandma I am, I also wanted to thank my daughter Jaimie and my grandson Aaron (11), who came out to help! Salesman in training, Aaron jumped right in to help with everything; then, on Monday, he helped me put away all of our inventory so I would be ready for the next craft show in September. (If anyone knows of any shows coming up INSIDE, let me know.)

Even my son, Steven, and his family stopped by on Sunday to give me hugs! His son Robert (4 ) told me he wanted to go shopping and started picking out his favorite ornaments. He should be ready to help sell in a few years. With four grandchildren, there might come a time when there will be a Beyond Behnke’s at craft shows all over the area.

As always, seeing old Behnke friends who stop by to say hello is so lovely. One thing I will never tire of is when people do a double-take at our banner and say, “Behnkes?” Are you with the Behnke’s in Beltsville?” Then I heard how much our little place in the world meant to so many people.

Stephanie Fleming was raised at Behnke’s Nurseries in Beltsville. Her Mom, Sonja, was one of Albert & Rose Behnke’s four children. She was weeding from the moment she could walk and hiding as soon as she was old enough to run, so many weeds, so little time. Although she quickly learned how to pull out a perennial and get taken off of weed pulling duty.
