Look Who Showed Up!

I heard last week from Rawlings Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Druid Hill Park, Maryland that they were now displaying the famous Audrey II from Behnke’s at their Carnivorous Plant Display. They had purchased quite a few different things from us before we closed, and I was so happy that Audrey II had a new home.

After sharing the information about this Carnivorous Event that Rawlings was having, the creator of this masterpiece (I am a little biased) Adrienne and her family decided to go visit. From what I understand, this was such a great exhibit, and they really enjoyed their time there.

Adrienne has created many wonderful displays for Behnke’s over the years and it is always fantastic when we see them being used at other garden centers or in your own homes and gardens. As always, we will use the hashtag #bornatbehnkes when they pop up and we would love it if you share pictures with us.

We are so lucky to live in an area that is so close to many public gardens. Rawlings Conservatory is just one that I hope if you find the time you can stop in and visit.

by Stephanie Fleming, Beyond Behnke’s

Stephanie Fleming was raised at Behnke’s Nurseries in Beltsville. Her Mom, Sonja, was one of Albert & Rose Behnke’s four children. She was weeding from the moment she could walk and hiding as soon as she was old enough to run, so many weeds, so little time. Although she quickly learned how to pull out a perennial and get taken off of weed pulling duty.
